MEMBERSHIP

 

FULL MEMBERSHIP
A present or former, paid, full-time sworn police officer employed by a governmental law enforcement agency as defined by statutes, with a Baccalaureate or Advanced Degree.

A present or former, paid, full-time, of a governmental law enforcement agency as defined by statutes in a managerial or administrative position, with a Baccalaureate or Advance Degree.

A person who holds a Baccalaureate or Advance Degree, is officially designated in the bulletin of a fully accredited institution of higher learning or police academy as a full time director, coordinator, professor, lecturer in police science, law enforcement or criminal justice.
 
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
Any present or former, paid, full-time, sworn police officer employed by a governmental law enforcement agency, possessing an Associate in Arts Degree (A.A.) and presently enrolled and actively participating in a baccalaureate degree program is eligible to become an Associate member with voting privileges.
 
SPECIAL MEMBERSHIP
The requirements for membership may be waived by the Board of Directors in cases involving present or former police officers, educators, administrators and managers who have made outstanding contributions to law enforcement. The requirements may not be waived for more than ten percent of the total active members
